SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS
LEVEL - BEGINNER
Age 10+
Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pmSaturday Morning Cartoons is a recreational animation program that serves as an introduction to the principles and practices of 2D animation. In two-hour sessions on Saturday mornings, participants will explore a variety of accessible animation software under the guidance of our talented and caring support staff, contributing to collaborative projects (Monster Metro and other Spectrum Studios productions) and trying their hand at bringing original characters and storylines to life!

SATURDAY MATINEE CARTOONS
LEVEL - BEGINNER+
Age: 14+
Saturdays 1:00pm – 4:00pmIf Saturday Morning Cartoons is the introduction to animation, Advanced Saturday Matinee Cartoons is the next step in the process of becoming a well-rounded animation artist! In this 3-hour intensive, creative participants will refine their existing animation skill sets and work together on collaborative short projects, taking part in the development, animation, and execution of animated short films.

PRODUCTION CLUB 101
LEVEL - BEGINNER
Age 13+
Sundays 10:00am – 12:00pmProduction Club 101 is a hands-on introductory filmmaking program for individuals who benefit from individualized support. With a low staff-to-participant ratio, our skilled and experienced support staff guide autistic filmmakers through a variety of short and achievable production projects with participant-led interests and ideas. This makes for a tactile and immersive workflow with a focus collaboration and creative expression, providing our participants with a fundamental understanding of the filmmaking process in manageable two-hour sessions.

PRODUCTION CLUB 202
LEVEL - BEGINNER+
Age 13+
Sundays 1:00pm – 4:00pmProduction Club 202 is a three-hour collaborative filmmaking workshop where participants create, develop, and produce 2 short films per term. Our talented and committed staff guide filmmaking teams through the filmmaking process, cultivating ideas based on participant interests and technical goals while providing hands-on learning opportunities with specialized production activities! In Production Club 202, participants will be given access to state of the art filmmaking equipment and software, proving a comprehensive understanding of filmmaking fundamentals and slew of fun co-creation experiences!
CREATIVE MEDIA LAB

CoLab
LEVEL - INTERMEDIATE
FOCUS - LIVE-ACTION
Age: 21+
TIME: Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 10am - 3pm
FALL 2024: September 9th - December 20th
WINTER/SPRING 2025: January 6th - May 23rd
Co-Lab is the spot for all you aspiring filmmakers interested in live action productions, this means any production where we use cameras, real actors, locations etc.
If you choose this path you will be co-creating a 5-7 minute live-action short film in a group of other filmmakers. You will learn the whole process from pitching your film idea to putting the final touches on your completed film.
If you are ready our production team is waiting for your direction. Action!

CoToons
LEVEL - INTERMEDIATE
FOCUS - ANIMATION
Age: 21+
TIME: Monday, Tuesday and Friday - 10am - 3pm
FALL 2024: September 9th - December 20th
WINTER/SPRING 2025: January 6th - May 23rd
CoToons is all about animation. This is the place where you learn to hone your skills in all things animation.
If you choose this path you will be co-creating a 3-5 minute animation. This process includes story development, character design, storyboarding, animation foundation, colouring and compositing.

We are developing a new series of focused online courses that you will be able to complete from the comfort of your own home!
The first courses in development will be an online adaption of our successful in person workshop series “PITCH IT TO ME” and a brand new Animation Portfolio course that will guide you through everything that you need to apply for animation school.

SUMMER CAMPS

CAMP 1: General Camp
LEVEL - BEGINNER
Ages 15+ | June 16 - 27
$1,100 (Register before February 12: $1,000)Participants from every skill level can work collaboratively under the supervision of our staff, experiencing a variety of filmmaking roles from scriptwriting and storyboarding, to directing actors, using professional editing software and everything in between.

CAMP 2: Youth Camp
LEVEL - BEGINNER
Ages 10 - 15 | June 30 - July 11
$1,100 (Register before February 12: $1,000)For our younger creators, our youth camp focuses on hands-on experience as we recreate all aspects of an actual film crew, both in front of and behind the camera, learning the basics of production while producing original shorts, animation, documentaries, music videos and live action films.

CAMP 3: Advanced Camp
LEVEL - INTERMEDIATE
Ages 15+ | July 14 - August 1 (3 week camp)
$1,650 (Register before February 12: $1,500)This camp is specifically designed for those who have already attended a Summer Film Camp previously and/or have more advanced skills. With more high-level techniques and an extra week for productions, our advanced campers will work together to create films like no other.

$1,100 (Register before February 12: $1,000)With the help of our talented staff, creators of all skill levels will dive into various aspects of filmmaking. From crafting scripts and storyboards, directing actors, and learning professional editing tools, everyone gets a hands-on experience.
FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL CLUB
Friday Night Social Club presents a fun, casual, social environment where autistic and/or neurodivergent folks are invited to hang out and unwind after all the hard work done during the week. Our new and improved structure is better than ever, you won’t want to miss out!
Friday nights at the Spectrum studio include playing board games or group video games, singing karaoke, doing art activities, having dance parties and more! Each week, Chef Pete Papaioannou prepares a delicious group dinner including meat and vegetarian options. After sharing a meal, Social Club participants can get comfy and enjoy the screening of some classic and some new Spectrum movies.
Come hang out, share a meal, play some games and watch movies with us!
